PERSONAL TRAINING FAQ'S
Q - Why should I hire a personal trainer?
A - Believe it or not exercise can be enjoyable.  As your personal trainer I can make your exercise both effective and fun.  My goal is to help you define and achieve your specific health & fitness goals.  As a professional I would create a personalized roadmap to help you get there.  Taking into account your current fitness level and discussing what you ultimately want to achieve.  I would also help you assess your progress toward your goals and can hold you accountable.
Other Benefits Include:
  • Professional Instruction (focusing on proper form and safety)
  • Efficiency (making the most of your workout time)
  • Variety (so you won't plateau or feel stuck in the same old routine)
  • Motivation
Q - What results can I expect?
A - The effort that I put into training my clients is at 110%...I expect to see results for you just as you expect to see and feel results for yourself.    What I ask my clients to remember is that I am assisting you to help you reach your fitness goals.

I do this by showing you the right exercises, the right frequency and intensity to help you reach your goals as quickly as possible.  The results that you will see working with me as your trainer will ultimately depend on the time invested per week and your goals themselves.

While noticeable results in muscle mass and fat loss could take up to 5 - 6 weeks, you will definitely see an increase in motivation, enthusiasm, and energy from the get-go.
Q - Do you incorporate nutrition and meal planning into your training?
A - My mottos is "Fitness is key but until you get your nutrition right nothing is going to change".  Meal plans and nutritional information are definitely available.
Q - How many days per week should I work out with you?
A - The ideal frequency of personal training sessions varies from person to person.  If you are just getting started, have an injury, or need regular motivation then 2-3 days per week with me would be awesome.  If you are very motivated and do 1 day with me and then 2-3 on your own then high five for you....that works.
Q - What should expect and how do I prepare for my fitness assessment?
A - First, do know that it is normal to be a little nervous but don't worry as you will not do a complete workout.  Come prepared to discuss your specific goals, past workout history and any injuries.  Also prepare any questions that you might have for me, hydrate, and dress comfortably.  The purpose of the assessment is for you to also get to know me and decide if I am the right trainer for you as well. :)

Set up your first consultation, which takes about 45 minutes. During the first 30 minutes, you will be asked  to perform several functional movements and results will be recorded.

Don’t stress about how you perform. RJ's screening process is simply to locate limitations in your current movement patterns. It essentially serves as a trainer’s version of a physical.

After you’ve finished the screening tests, you will test your current levels of endurance, power, and strength. This process will take you through certain benchmarks to help determine your training direction moving forward.

Based on your results and fitness goals, RJ will craft a long-term training regimen to meet your training needs and schedule.
