The Accommodation

Bocas del Mar Hotel in Chiriqui is a stunning boutique hotel with modern, luxury features. In a privileged coastal location on the mainland at Boca Chica, it is perfectly positioned for a completely relaxing vacation. In 2017 it was voted Top Hotel in Panama for Service in the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards.

Hotel accommodations are in twenty large, contemporary-style bungalow guest rooms. All rooms are set in tropical gardens alongside the glistening blue water; open your drapes each morning and the Pacific Ocean is there to greet you!

Here your day can be as chilled or as adventurous as you want it to be. Bathe in one of two beautiful inviting infinity-style pools, sun yourself on our wide terraces or small private cove, or let us take care of you in our stylish restaurant and bar. And all the time you’ll be taking in the gorgeous surrounding views of the sailboats on the water and the islands beyond.

The Gulf of Chiriqui area enjoys a tropical climate and average daytime temperatures all year round of 82º Fahrenheit (28º C), with slightly cooler temperatures at night. The average humidity is 70%. Rainfall is much lower than the rest of the country meaning we have more hours of sunshine per day. Between December and April there is virtually no rain. The area is totally hurricane free- this is a destination to vacation in all year round.

You will be able to take advantage of the oceanside massage studio for optional wellness treatments and covered exercise deck over the water. Also a petanque french ball game court and golf driving range for courtesy guest use. Also kayak use is included as a courtesy for RJ Fitness & Nutrition. Woohoo!

Getting There

Round-trip transportation to and from Enrique Malek International Airport / David Airport (DAV) is included on the first and last day of the trip. It takes 1 hour to get to the venue from the airport.

NOT INCLUDED: Air travel to Panama - Arrangements must be made to fly to Panama City - (Tocumen International Airport) PTY and connect to David Airport (DAV) via (Copa Airlines)

A modern design spacious bungalow-style guest room, with walk in closet, spacious bathroom with separate tub and walk in shower and stunning views across the gardens towards the ocean. This room containts a Queen bed and a twin for 2 people and a rollaway for a third person can be added on request. More of this room type may be available on reqest.

King Bedroom

Sleeps up to 2, Contains 1 king or queen bed

Nestling amidst a stunning tropical paradise, Bocas del Mar Hotel in Boca Chica offers the perfect base for discovering the region. This is the gateway to the Gulf of Chiriquí Marine National Park with its many luxuriant green islands, palm-tree-fringed white beaches and an incredible variety of wildlife, right on the hotel’s doorstep!

The hotel offers a private dock, ideal for everything from going beach-hopping to nearby bathing beaches in water taxis, touring the national park by boat or setting off on a sports fishing trip. The trip program is varied and the resort even runs its own comfortable excursion boat with a daily tour schedule in the Gulf of Chiriqui. Tons of activities on sea and land, from water sports, romantic, fun evening sunset cruises or exciting trips in the Gulf or off-road ATV experiences for our group.

The highlands of Panama and their coffee plantations and indigineous peoples are just over 1 hour away.

Back at the hotel there is a soothing oceanside massage studio, with one side open to hear the waves, where optional additional beauty treatments are available. There is also a small beach, except at low tide, where the yoga pavilion is located which is suitable for relaxing on in an oceanside hammock or for yoga. A variety of beaches for bathing can be reached by optional water taxis or boat trips.

David airport, for flight connections to Panama City, is 50 minutes away and the Panamerican highway, linking to Panama City is 20 minutes away.

NEARBY FOOD

There is a lovely on-site bar & restaurant, in the top 10 ranking in the whole province on TripAdvisor, with views towards the ocean. Dining is overlooking the magical tropical gardens and the waters of the Pacific. The menu is a mixture of international bistro style with some Panamanian dishes. The resort also has a bar snack menu during the day. There are a couple of nice eating places nearby (short walk or brief water taxi) for alternative dining out on some nights of your choice, with lovely natural locations too.
